Canterra Centre


Canterra Centre at 109th Street and Jasper Avenue is a medium sized urban retail centre anomaly anchored by one of the top producing Save-On-Food stores owned by the Jim Pattison Group.

There are no comparables in the City of Edmonton.

This excellent intersection location at 109th street and Jasper Avenue is the break point between the city core and an up market trend on Jasper Avenue right in the centre of the segmented and constantly revitalizing and growing community of Oliver (currently in excess of 200,000 people).

As suburban markets become oversaturated with big box freestanding stores (a reality in Edmonton), many smaller retailers who would like to expand are looking to the smaller urban centres for growth, and Canterra Centre owned by Canterra Developments Corp. is just that and is constantly contacted for potential space.

Phenomenon or not, the saturation and shifting urbanization in Edmonton’s Oliver community is diverting many smaller retailers to the area looking for space. The motivation for this is not based upon preservation but rather is a result of basic common sense, the locations are better, and the market is well established.

We found in moving here to Regency Heights Estates in Kingswood that our new home requirements were able to fit what we felt were strict architectural guidelines. Now that we’ve completed our guideline responsibilities we now realize they are all in the name of protecting our investment and adding to the integrity of this beautiful, well established community
